Catherine Poling is the Principal of Emma K Doub Elementary School, an Apple Distinguished School, in Hagerstown, Maryland. She is an Apple Distinguished Educator, Class of 2015 and an Apple Certified Teacher (2016). Catherine serves on the Board of Directors and is President of Common Ground, Inc. and is the Co-Chair for the annual Common Ground Conference in Ocean City, Maryland, a professional development event facilitated by 15 professional organizations and hosting over 1200 educators. Catherine serves as the team leader for the Leadership Team of MITAC, Maryland Instructional Technology Advisory Council, and the Past President of the Council of Educational Administrative and Supervisory Organizations of Maryland (CEASOM) and the Maryland Society of Educational Technology (MSET). She chairs the Scholarship and Educator & Leader Awards for MSET. Catherine has also served as the Co-Chair for the Washington County Public Schools Digital Learning Team, Co-Chaired the Standards Based Report Card Committee, and has authored several multi-touch books which are available in the iBook Store. Catherine is the 2015 Outstanding Leader Using Technology Award Winner and the 2013 Making IT Happen Award Winner for MSET (ISTE).
